Cadbury Research Library, Birmingham, UK
Description
Art Workshop: Create your own Mughal-inspired decorated photo frame.
About this event
Get inspired by the art and history of Mughal India!
What is unique about the art and designs of Mughal albums? Who was the famous Mughal emperor who owned this album page held at Cadbury Research Library, University of Birmingham?
To celebrate South Asian Heritage Month, join us to decorate your own photo frame in the style of 17th century art albums from Mughal India and discover the history and heritage on your doorstep within the Mingana Collection of Middle Eastern Manuscripts. You will learn about the designs and styles found in Mughal albums and will decorate and take home your own photograph frame.
This is a free art workshop but due to limited spaces booking is required.
This workshop is preceded by a talk on the Mughal-era manuscripts in the Mingana Collection at 12pm by Dr Neelam Hussain – you need to book separately for the talk here: SAHM: Curator’s Talk – Mughal Manuscripts in the Mingana Collection
Suitable for ages 9-99. Adult supervision is required for all children.
This workshop is organised by the MIAH Foundation, with thanks to the generous support of the Cadbury Research Library, University of Birmingham.
