About the Workshop:

Gain insights, practical tools, and a supportive community of parents to empower you to support your children with the modern challenges we face. Topics include parenting in gang culture, LGBTQ+, RSE, and more. There will also be an Open Q&A with the instructors and an opportunity to ask personalized questions individually.

Workshop Instructors:

Shaykh Amer Jamil

Shaykh Amer Jamil is a distinguished scholar with a diverse academic background. He holds an LLB law degree from Strathclyde University and a BA (Hons) in Islamic studies from the University of Wales. His extensive journey in Islamic education spans over a decade, during which he dedicated 10 years to the study of Islamic sciences. This included six years of intensive study with eminent scholars in the Middle East, specifically in Syria and Yemen, resulting in the attainment of teaching licenses (ijaza) in various Islamic sciences.

Shaykh Amer’s area of specialization is Islamic Family Law. His unique expertise extends beyond traditional Islamic education, as he is a certified NLP practitioner and possesses a certificate in counseling skills. By seamlessly blending his religious knowledge with secular insights, he offers a contextualized understanding of marital issues for Western Muslims living in the 21st century.

In 2009, Shaykh Amer co-founded the Solas Foundation and, in collaboration with Shaykh Ruzwan Muhammad, established the iSyllabus Islamic studies program. Currently, he serves as the co-director of the program, contributing significantly to the development and dissemination of Islamic knowledge within the Western Muslim community.
