Islamic Geometry – London 12th August
Moroccan Corner, 8 High Street, London E17 7LD, United Kingdom
Description
Come and join Safira for an afternoon of Islamic geometry and mocktails! Construct a Moroccan pattern and create a painting to take home.
About this event
About this event:
Explore a pattern from Islamic traditions – in particular an eight-fold Moroccan zellige pattern, while enjoying mocktails at Moroccan Corner!
During the session we will use a compass and ruler to create a geometric pattern template. We will transfer this to watercolour paper and create a painting for you to take home with you.
The pattern we will be creating is pictured.
Equipment and materials will be provided during the class.
No prior experience is required.
Suitable for ages 16+
Each ticket includes a voucher for food and drink, allowing you to enjoy items of your choice up to the value of £10.
Class expectations:
The class is suitable for someone who has never taken a geometry class before or for someone who would like to refresh their skills. You will be taught the basics and will be able to practice using the compass before working on the pattern.
If you have tried geometry before, this class is a great refresher and a chance to try learn a new pattern.
