About This Event

Eyam, Peak District | 9km | 4.5–5.5 hours | Highest Point: 370m | Elevation Gain: 380m
Grade: Easy
Join Muslim Hikers for an autumn adventure exploring
Eyam and the beautiful countryside of the Peak District National Park
.
Surrounded by rolling hills and classic Peak District scenery, Eyam provides a fantastic starting point for our 9km circular walk. Our route takes us out from the village and through a varied landscape of open countryside, woodland and picturesque trails, with plenty of views to enjoy along the way.
Eyam itself is one of the Peak District's most historic villages. Often known as the
“Plague Village”
, it became famous for the actions of its residents during the plague outbreak of 1665–66, when the village isolated itself to help prevent the disease spreading to surrounding communities.
While this hike is graded
Easy
, there is still approximately 380m of elevation gain across the route, so you should be comfortable walking for several hours and tackling some uphill and downhill sections. November conditions can also make trails wet and muddy underfoot.
As always, you’ll be walking alongside the Muslim Hikers community, with our team supporting you throughout the day.
