Chinese Calligraphy with Samar Farooq

Discover the beauty of Arabic Calligraphy in Chinese Tradition (aka Sini) with a celebrated calligrapher Samar Farooq.

Sini Calligraphy is the artistic script dating back to the 14th century.

Where Arabic calligraphy follows strict rules with proportions, sini calligraphy is completely free of rules. The main focus is on the beauty and balance of the composition.

Samar will take you through her calligraphy journey and show some of her artwork including homework pieces she created for her teacher, Hajinoor Deen.

She will also do a demonstration which will include what materials are used and how to write this script.
