Addressing Inequalities in East London Schools: A Morpeth School Case Study
Morpeth Secondary School, Portman Place, London E2 0PX, United Kingdom
Description
A conference showcasing a report written by Fiona Samuels PhD, focusing on inequalities in schools in East London.
About this event
Join us at this incredible conference, where we will present a report written by Fiona Samuels of Queen Mary University.
This report describes the experiences of young people in schools and the successful partnership between Morpeth School and Women’s Inclusive Team (WIT).
WIT is a local charity in Tower Hamlets that has supported BAME women and their families for the past twenty years.
The report explores how the initiative started, how it bridged the gap between the school and the community and ultimately improving the quality of lives of young pupils and their families.
WIT would like to collaborate with other schools, organisations and stakeholders to ensure that the long-term viability and the effectiveness of this initiative continues in other schools.
Presented by:
Safia Jama MBE (WIT CEO), Jemima Reilly (Morpeth School Headteacher) and Fiona Samuels PhD (Senior Lecturer in Global Health & Inequalities, QMUL)
