Learning to love Allah — through Salah
About This Event
Salah Therapy — how Salah rewires the brain
Salah isn't just a duty. It's a tool. Five times a day, we bow, prostrate, and return to Allah — and in that motion, something in us begins to shift. The mind quiets. The heart softens. The nervous system regulates.
At this meetup we'll dive deep into that shift. How does Salah rewire the brain? Where do the Qur'an, neuroscience, and mindfulness meet? And what does that look like in your day-to-day life — the days it feels heavy, the days it feels alive, the days you can barely make it to the mat?
This is a warm, non-judgmental space. Bring yourself as you are.
What to expect:
Warm welcome + intro to Muslim Psychology (10 min)
A quick pre-session mood check (PANAS-SF — takes 90 seconds) so we can see how you feel walking in
The main teaching from Bilal — how Salah works on the brain, drawing from Qur'an, neuroscience, and psychology
Group discussion, prompted and gentle — nobody has to share
A private journaling activity — just for you, no eyes on your page
Shared discussion prompts (in small groups + full room)
A light, theme-aligned game to reset the room and connect us
The same mood check at the end, so you can see how you feel walking out
Warm close + du'a
Grab a drink at the venue and settle in — Eataly is just outside Liverpool Street station.
A gentle reminder: this is a space to reflect, not to be told what to think. Come as you are.
