Description
This information event is for joint fostering services of 3 local authorities: Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea and Westminster
About this event
In Islam, fostering is encouraged and there is great importance placed on looking after vulnerable children and those who are orphaned. Taking care and protecting a vulnerable child is referred to as ‘Kifalah’. Indeed, the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) was both fostered as a child and later took care of (fostered) many vulnerable children himself. Therefore, taking care of a child and assuming guardianship is not simply permissible, but important.Fostering is an extremely rewarding role and involves carers looking after a child for an agreed period of time, working alongside the local authority.
At our fostering information events you will have the opportunity to find out more about fostering from both a social worker and foster carer.
If you have ever wondered if you could be a foster carer, or you love children and think fostering is something which you may want to do, then come along to London Central Mosque for our information session to find out more.
Change a life, foster a child.
Please email fostering@rbkc.gov.uk and we can send you through the details.
