Dr Rahmanara Chowdhury, is a Chartered Psychologist and Course Lead of the undergraduate and postgraduate Islam and Pastoral Care programmes at the Markfield Institute of Higher Education (MIHE). She completed her undergraduate studies in Ergonomics, has a masters in Psychology and completed her doctoral research at Brunel University London (funded by the ESRC). She has authored several books on the topic of domestic abuse within Muslim communities and has previously worked with survivors of DVA. Her research interests include domestic violence and abuse, spiritual abuse, forensic mental health, intersectionality, and holistic approaches to wellbeing.
Imam Farooq Mulla is a UK based trained Hafiz and Imam and has developed himself by understanding and working with different cultures. He was appointed as a Chaplain since 1995 in the Rampton hospital and is a consultant advisor for a number of organisations on issues related to Muslim community in the UK and abroad. Currently Imam Farooq is actively involved in developing materials and training of Muslim supplementary school teachers.
