About this event
Tea, Coffee, Cakes, Snacks, henna, raffles and much more. Join us on this fun packed SAMH Coffee Morning which is being organised on behalf of Lajna Ima’illah (Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association) whose motto is Love For All Hatred For None. Around since 1923, Scottish Association of Mental Health (SAMH) is Scotland’s national mental health charity. At present, they operate over 70 services in communities across Scotland providing mental health social care support, addictions and employment services, among others. Together with national programme work in See Me, respectme, suicide prevention and physical activity and support, these services inform SAMH’s policy and campaign work to influence positive social change.
Service to Mankind is the Essence of Islam. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) emphasised love, sympathy, and kindness towards all. A society which is insensitive to the suffering of other human beings and is not always inclined to serve the cause of humanity cannot be described as an Islamic society. Hence we Ahmadi Muslims have constant desire to strive in the cause of winning the pleasure of God by doing good. The Holy Qurán says: “Be competitive in doing good” (2: 149) hence we Ahmadi Muslims vie with one another in performing good deeds.
The Promised Messiah (peace be on him), the founder of the Ahmadiyya Movement, had a great compassion for mankind. He said, “Sympathy for all mankind is a moral obligation and a duty…that religion is no religion which does no inculcate sympathy, nor does that man deserve to be called a man who does not have sympathy in him (message of peace).”
Lajna Ima’illah commonly known as Lajna is the Ahmadiyya Muslim Women’s Association, an auxiliary organisation of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Our name means handmaidens of Allah. We were first established in 1922 in India as an empowered women’s organisation by His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Bashir-ud-din Mahmud Ahmad (may Allah be pleased with him) who was the Community’s second worldwide spiritual head known as Khalifatul Masih ( https://lajna.org.uk/lajna-imaillah-uk/).
