What is the Arafah?

Arafah is the 9th day of Dhul Hijjah – the 12th month of the Islamic calendar, in which the pilgrimage to Makkah (Hajj) takes place. Muslims are encouraged to fast on this day, and millions of Muslims across the globe mark this blessed and holiest day of the year by fasting from dawn to dusk.

“There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.”

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)

More information about the 10 days of Hajj and tips on how to make the most of them can be found on our blog: https://www.ramadantentproject.com/10-tips-dhul-hijjah/

What is Eid Al Adha?

Eid Al Adha is the 10th day of Dhul Hijjah and marks the culmination of Hajj. On this day, Muslims commemorate the sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim, and give our own sacrifices to help those in need.

This year Ramadan Tent Project want to make donating easy for you. We are collaborating with My Ten Days, so that you can set up, automate and reap the rewards of donating without the stress! Please donate here: My10Days.

Ramadan Tent Project will share donations between Islamic Relief’s Qurbani campaign, and Open Iftar Arafah 2024.

What is Open Iftar?

Open Iftar is the flagship initiative of Ramadan Tent Project, an award-winning charity that brings communities together and spreads the spirit of Ramadan through various initiatives.

Our mission is to turn strangers into friends, and that is why our events are open to people of all faith backgrounds and none.

Since 2013, Open Iftar has connected over one-million people across the country at some of Britain’s most iconic cultural spaces, from Trafalgar Square, Young V&A, and Wembley Stadium, to our regional events at V&A Dundee, Windsor Castle, and Belfast City Hall!

Open Iftar bridges communities; it is a space in which our commonalities are highlighted, our differences celebrated and human connection is forged.

What is ‘Iftar’?

Iftar is the evening meal with which Muslims end their fast at sunset. It’s often shared with family and community.
