*New* Weekly Muslim Women only Halaqa (circle)

I Insha Allah want to create a safe and open learning and community space for Muslim Women where we can learn the Deen (religion), enjoining the good and forbidding the evil which is quality Allah mentioned about this Muslim Ummah (community):

كُنتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِٱلْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ ٱلْمُنكَرِ وَتُؤْمِنُونَ بِٱللَّهِ ۗ وَلَوْ ءَامَنَ أَهْلُ ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ لَكَانَ خَيْرًۭا لَّهُم ۚ مِّنْهُمُ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ وَأَكْثَرُهُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ ١١٠

3:110

You are the best community ever raised for humanity—you encourage good, forbid evil, and believe in Allah. Had the People of the Book believed, it would have been better for them. Some of them are faithful, but most are rebellious.

No hiding the truth on Islam (this is not only haram but a major sin that earns one the curse of Allah), No watering down of Knowledge, no complexity (difficult, confusing language without explaining clearly)- speaking the truth in the clear manner as conveyed in the Qur’an and sunnah. For the sake of Allah- we must renew and purify our intentions.

This is new so be patient as the weeks go by. Numbers may be low at first and they may stay like that but with sincerity, success will come whether its with a few number of sisters or many sisters.

Insha Allah, the plan is to create a groupchat when a few sisters begin regularly attending these weekly Halaqas. Here we can begin to share Islamic reminders, details of Islamic events, Charity links, Information on events affecting the Muslim Ummah ect., Solutions to the Crises affecting the Muslim Ummah whether in Filastin (Palestine is an English word refering to Filastin), As-Sudan or elsewhere- which is of course return to the Quran and Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf (righteous predecessors).

Then from there, I have exciting ideas by the Tawfiq of Allah such as Islamic topic series which also include Important topics us Muslims must know about such as Aqeedah (Belief/Creed) as well as the Names of Allah, stories of the Companions (May Allah be pleased with them), Signs of the Day of Judgement. Keep in mind these are series ideas. So one topic would go on for several weeks perhaps even months.

 But for now, let’s start a Journey of learning and I may make mistakes but we must correct each other and give each other sincere advice. The Deen is Naseeha (sincerity) as comes in a hadith (saying of the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم)

To ensure these weekly Halaqas become a place that is pleasing to Allah, I will end this event description by sharing some strict rules:

1. This groupchat community space is for Muslim women only, whether newly reverted or a Muslim seeking to return back to Allah. If you are in contact with a non-Muslim who is interested in Islam or who you want to give Dawah to, please get in contact with me and I can Insha Allah send you some simple resources for this. Finally it is specifically for Muslim women who adhere to the beliefs of Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah (the people of the Sunnah and the United group). Even if you do not label yourself as being part of Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaa’ah (the people of the Sunnah and the United group), you are very much welcome to the group if you fit the description, following the Qur’an and Sunnah without alteration (change)

2. No backbiting or slander will be permitted. 

Abu Huraira رضي الله عنه reported: The Messenger of Allah, صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم, said, “Do you know what backbiting is?” They said, “Allah and His Messenger know best.” The Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم said, “To mention your brother in a way he dislikes.” It was said, “What if it is true about him?” The Prophet said, “If what you say about him is true, it is backbiting. If it is not true, it is slander.”

Grade: Sahih (authentic) according to Muslim

The only exception is if one Is trying to warn against a misguided speaker spreading bid’ah (innovation- newly invented matters- m evil). In this case, as the people of knowledge have stated, one must warn others to prevent them from potentially falling into misguidance and is not considered to be backbiting. But you must ensure what you are saying is true and from a reliable trustworthy source. 

يَـٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ إِن جَآءَكُمْ فَاسِقٌۢ بِنَبَإٍۢ فَتَبَيَّنُوٓا۟ أَن تُصِيبُوا۟ قَوْمًۢا بِجَهَـٰلَةٍۢ فَتُصْبِحُوا۟ عَلَىٰ مَا فَعَلْتُمْ نَـٰدِمِينَ ٦

49:6

O believers, if an evildoer brings you any news, verify ˹it˺ so you do not harm people unknowingly, becoming regretful for what you have done.

3. The issue of image making is an issue of dispute. However, a notable number of scholars declare digital photography to be haram, some even declaring videography to be harm.

It was images making that led to the first act of Shirk at the time of Prophet Nuh عليه السلام

(Peace be upon him)

 The most severely punished asides from the disbelievers will be the image makers

‘Abdullaah ibn Mas’ood رضي الله عنه

reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Those who will be most severely punished by Allaah on the Day of Resurrection will be the image-makers.” (Reported by al-Bukhaari, see al-Fath, 10/382).

And we see in this modern digital age that instead of statues, it is now videos and images of celebrities that are leading people into ‘celebrity worship’, excessive love that would be Shirk. Shirk means to associate partners with Allah in worship not only by praying to other than Allah but also through loving others more or the same as you love Allah, trusting others more or the same as you love Allah. Love, Fear, Hope, Trust these are also acts of worship. Worship is not only of the limbs (hands, arms ect) but also Worship is of the heart and tongue.

Following the safest opinion in order to ensure this space is upon righteousness , I have decided to prohibit the sharing of images of people, animals & objects & likewise videos of them and emojis. As a sister who abandoned image making for the sake of Allah, I have found much better alternatives which safeguard my deen and allow me to continue learning & sharing knowledge. We should be lowering our Gaze and not looking at unrelated Men (including cousins & brother in law) or naked/inappropriately dressed women (whether they are related to us or not). 

So please no images on profiles and there will be no videos on from any of us. Don’t worry, when it comes to the future group I will have security measures to ensure its Muslim Women Only.
