Muslim Women Climb Bouldering Session

This is a social climbing group for any women that identifies as Muslim, with the aim being to get more Muslim women into climbing, as well as getting those who already climb to meet other female Muslim climbers.

All abilities are welcome from complete beginners who’ve never set foot in a climbing gym all the way up to women who’ve climbed for years! (Please note that there is only a limited number of tickets for beginners)

Price:

– Muslim Women Climb events cost £2.80

– The climbing centre entrance price has been lowered to £8.50 for the event (normally £14.00).

– Shoe and Chalk Hire: free shoe and chalk hire is available if you don’t have your own..

Schedule:

– We will be meeting in the café of the climbing centre for 16:00 and after a brief introduction/ get to know each other we’ll get shoes on and move to the climbing area.

– First there will be a 10 minute group warm up.

– There will be a induction for those who’ve not climbed before which will cover the following : how to climb/demonstration, safety when on the wall and moving around the centre and falling safety.

– After this everyone will be able to climb on the wall on their own, it will be a mixed ability session with lots of encouragement and support!

– Please note we will be sharing the climbing centre with the general public during this session.

What to Wear :

– Gym/workout clothes are the most suited to this kind of activity, but anything that is comfortable, lightweight and breathable works too!

– If you’re going to be wearing modest wear/ abayas etc, ensure that they are at a length where your foot isn’t going to be getting caught whilst you climb. (e.g. Would you be able to climb a ladder whilst wearing it?)

– DO NOT wear rings or dangling jewellery whilst climbing as they can cause injuries.

Things to keep in mind:

– The centre will be open to members of the public during this session.

– This session is for Adults (18+) only.

– You may want to bring a bottle of water.

– You may want to bring a padlock for the lockers.

– Pictures will be taken and may uploaded to social media.

– Please only sign up if you are able to make the session.

– Tickets cost £2.80, this helps cover the cost of running these events. This is a non-refundable charge.

– Eventbrite charges an admin fee.

– The climbing centre entrance price is a separate charge that you pay in person on the day.
