Muslim Hikers: Dovedale

Muslim Hikers invites you to it’s first hike of 2024, so come adventure in to the Peak District.

This hike includes the famous stepping stones at Dovedale and covers many of the landmarks and scenic highlights of the White Peak area including summiting Thorpe Cloud.

This is a fantastic chance to meet likeminded hikers & adventurers from across the country and enjoy a scenic social trek as part of a professionally organised event with qualified mountain guides.

All are welcome regardless of religious background or ability. Whether you’re a seasoned mountaineer or a first time walker, we invite you to join us as we hike the Peak District.

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY – (Car parking may be limited so it’s important to arrive on time to find alternative parking if needed)

Walk distance/Duration:

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: EASY – This is a fairly easy walk and is suitable for people of all walking abilities. As always, being physially trained will help you enjoy the experience more.

The route is approximately 6 miles and it is expected to take the group 5 hours to complete at a casual pace.

After a short briefing, we shall start the trek at 10:00 sharp.

The Dovedale trek this January will be around 6 miles on a circular trail, starting at the car park and crossing the iconic Stepping Stones. The second section of the walk will see you take a steep ascent up Thorpe Cloud to experience incredible panoramic views of the Peak District National Park, as you can see north up Dovedale and south across the Midland plain. The summit of Thorpe Cloud is in the White Peaks on the southern end of Dovedale. It is a limestone hill that attracts thousands of visitors every year due to its unique shape and proximity to the Dovedale Stepping Stones. The hill is 942ft and is known for being on the border between Staffordshire and Derbyshire and for being in the 2010 Robin Hood film that starred Russell Crowe.

KIT LIST

Hiking boots with ankle support recommended, rucksack, waterproof jacket & trousers, extra layers, water bottle & packed lunch. You will be sent a full kit list via email.

– Please note professional photography & videography may be in place. Content may be shared by ourselves and third parties for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let us know on the day of the trek.
