Muslim Hikers: Cheddar Gorge

Embark on a winter journey to Cheddar Gorge, one of Britain’s most spectacular natural landmarks. This geological wonder offers breathtaking views, awe-inspiring cliff-top walks, and a fascinating history that spans thousands of years. Nestled in the Mendip Hills, Cheddar Gorge is not just a hiker’s paradise but also a sanctuary for rare flora and fauna.

The gorge is part of the larger Cheddar Complex, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offering a unique blend of natural architecture and scenic vistas.

This hike offers the perfect blend of challenging inclines, tranquil wooded areas, and stunning viewpoints, promising an experience like no other. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or new to the trails, this is a day out you won’t want to miss.

This is a fantastic chance to meet likeminded hikers & adventurers from across the country and enjoy a scenic social trek as part of a professionally organised event with qualified mountain guides.

All are welcome regardless of religious background or ability. Whether you’re a seasoned mountaineer or a first time walker, we invite you to join.

This special event is brought to you with support from the National Trust, stewarding the UK’s natural and historic treasures.

PLEASE ARRIVE EARLY – (Car parking may be limited so it’s important to arrive on time to find alternative parking if needed)

Walk distance/Duration:

DIFFICULTY LEVEL: Easy – This is a fairly easy walk suitable for people of all walking abilities. As always, being physially trained will help you enjoy the experience more.

The route is approximately 10 km and it is expected to take the group 5-6 hours to complete at a casual pace.

After a short briefing, we shall start the trek at 9am sharp.

You should expect to complete the hike by 3pm

KIT LIST

Hiking boots with ankle support recommended, rucksack, waterproof jacket & trousers, extra layers, water bottle & packed lunch. You will be sent a full kit list via email.

– A guided hike, led by professional mountain guides

– Stewardship from Muslim Hikers – we are here to offer support and advice before, during and after your event.

– Dedicated Event Whatsapp group to network and for getting help with transport (link will be in your Eventbrite confirmation email)

OTHER NOTES

– Tickets are non transferable and non refundable

– Please note professional photography & videography may be in place. Content may be shared by ourselves and third parties for marketing purposes. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let us know on the day of the trek.
