M Women’s Convention & Expo

The convention is a one-day event and will be split into four elements:

1. A conference – with successful inspirational speakers, who will share how they were able to succeed in the face of adversity and will provide practical advice to delegates on achieving their goals
2. A roundtable discussion – exploring some of the challenges women face (particularly Muslim and BAME women) and working together to identify potential solutions, which will then be shared in a post-convention report with relevant stakeholders
3. An exhibition space – where individuals who have set up small businesses can showcase their enterprises – with a key focus on those who operate from their home. Exhibitors will also include sponsors and supporters of the event
4. A networking lunch – this will provide the opportunity to meet like-minded women in an informal setting, this will be especially useful for our guests/attendees to network, build contacts and expand their reach.

Aims & Objectives of the convention:

1. To understand the barriers faced by Muslim women in:

• accessing services i.e., local authority provision

• employment

• education and training

• finding external support

• mental health and isolation

2. To find and share successful ways to overcome barriers and succeed in our aspirations

3. ⁠To inspire each other to not only reach for our aspirations, but to achieve them!

EXPO STANDS

Delegates with valid tickets can apply for exhibitor spaces by emailing mwomensconvention@gmail.com. We will be considering all applications at the beginning of February and we will contact successful applicants soon after.
