Being Muslim: A roadmap to the practicalities and spiritual aspects of Islam.
This course is ideal for new Muslims, those interested in the religion and those who are starting off in discovering their faith. It is open to all adults.
This weekend course will go through the practical guide by Asad Tarsin, to help beginners on their spiritual journey.
This weekend course taught by Dr. Daniel Jackson (a revert himself) will give attendees the basics in useful and practical knowledge to help them understand what it means to be Muslim and practice their faith.
What the course will cover:
-The Narration of Gabriel (Hadith Jibril)
-the basics of Islamic belief
-how to pray and fast
-spiritual refinement
-a brief examination of the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
-an introduction to the Quran
-guidelines for living an Islamically ethical lifestyle
-a glossary of frequently used Islamic terms
-an appendix of short selections from the Quran
-a list of recommended reading.
Fee: £25 to be paid on arrival *
About the speaker:
Dr Daniel Jackson is co-founder and Chair of The Olton Project Committee and The Board of Trustees. He is a consultant psychiatrist by profession and has studied the Islamic sciences extensively (both abroad and in the UK) over the last 25 years.
