An Introduction to Islamic Philosophy: Hellenistic Heritage and the Qur’an

Much of the world’s philosophy has historically been ignored by the West. Yet, if philosophy is the love of wisdom, there is no doubt that the philosophy of other cultures can enrich us further still. This half-day course, the first of six in a sub-series, will explore the foundations of Islamic philosophy, including the hellenistic thought of Plato and Aristotle, and then consider the challenges of integrating that with the Qur’an.
