A study of Shirk: a Four week course

The most important fundamental matter of Islām is Shahādah: lā ilāha illa Allāh, ‘There is no deity worthy of worship except Allāh’.

The greatest sin in Islam, is associating partners with Allah (God). The Qurʾān stresses in many verses that Allah does not share His powers with any partner (sharīk).

Then do not set up rivals unto Allah (in worship) while you know (that He Alone has the right to be worshipped) Quran, 2:22

And the Prophet salallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: Whoever dies claiming that Allah has a rival, will enter Hell. [Al-Bukhari, Muslim]

In the four weeks of course starting 5th October, we will learn the importance of knowing Shirk. We will look at some common daily life examples of shirk so we can learn how to avoid them.
